Dose resposta de ciclismo para modificar os fatores de risco cardiovascular: revisão sistemática

Resumo

A prática do ciclismo promove melhorias relevantes em muitos fatores de risco para doenças cardiovasculares (FRCV). O objetivo foi identificar os benefícios do ciclismo e dose-resposta mínima necessária para promover redução dos FRCV, considerando o volume e a intensidade no ciclismo. As buscas foram conduzidas em seis bancos de dados eletrônicos (Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, Scielo, ScienceDirect). Foram elegíveis artigos originais publicados entre 2010 e 2023, que examinaram a associação de ciclismo com FRCV em adultos e idosos, escritos em inglês, português e espanhol. Optou-se pela estratégia de busca os termos: bicycling, bicycle, cycling, cardiovascular diseases, risk factors e exercise. Nove estudos foram selecionados, observou-se que iniciar a prática do ciclismo ou ser regular nesta prática podem gerar benefícios na redução de FRCV. Os estudos selecionados abordam a redução do diabetes do tipo 2 (11,1%), da obesidade abdominal e geral (55,5%), da hipertensão arterial (33,3%), da hipertrigliceridemia (33,3%), assim como na redução do risco de mortalidade por todas as causas (33,3%). Além disso, dois terços dos estudos reforçam que pedalar entre 5 a 10 METs por semana, ou seja, de moderada a alta intensidade, em torno de 150 minutos semanais, pode promover benefícios na redução dos FRCV. Conclui-se que a prática do ciclismo é um recurso para aumentar os níveis de atividade física, reduzindo os FRCV em adultos. Deve ser praticado de forma consistente em intensidades moderadas a altas para obter resultados mais efetivos.
