The effect a 12-week resistance training in strength and body composition of elderly woman
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determinate the effects of a 12-week resistance training in muscular strength and body composition of 24 elderly woman (with ages from 61 to 79-years-old). We evaluate the strength using two tests form than richly and lioness’s protocol: arm curl test and 30s chair stand and arm curl to calculate the body composition, we use the body weight and the waist circumference. Our results show that this resistance training improved both of lower and upper limbs strength and reduced the body composition. Although, this effervesce was nit significantly. In conclusion, our research confirms that resistance training is one of the most important kind of training when our objective is the strength maintenance in elderly woman. This ability is very important because it’s closers related to a good quality of life.
