Abstract

Analysis of the scientific production of the electromyography activity of the pectoralis major, anterior deltoid and triceps brachii, in the exercise of the supine rectum and its variations. The most popular exercise to grow upper limbs muscles is bench press with free barbell. Many researches with analysis by electromyography (EMG) had investigated the activations of the motion primary muscles: pectoralis major, anterior deltoid and triceps brachial in this exercise. The aims of this study was to compare through of a review of the literature, the stimulus that came from exercise variations on the bench press on primary muscles analyzed by EMG. The present paper investigated 29 articles, of which were selected eight for a review of the literature with analysis. It was observed that in all the analyzed study, the exercise bench press with dumbbell, chesty fly, fly machine, bench press on Smith, bench press with hollow barbell, bench press with free barbell (unstable), bench press in the free barbell under ball and push-up with elastic resistance, showed the same activations EMG in the primary muscles in comparison to the exercise bench press. Considering the similarity in the electromyographic responses of the exercises intended for the simultaneous activation of the pectoralis major, anterior deltoid and triceps brachial in comparison to bench press with free barbell, it can be conclude that these various exercises are good options to promote satisfactory results in moments in moments that the bench press with free barbell exercise is not available or when training program choose to diversify the types of exercise without damaging the training. In additional, it can it can be said that these variations can be used in therapeutic applications or in situation of muscular asymmetry.
