Hypotension post strength training sessions performed at different intensities
Abstract
Introduction: It is well supported by the literature the benefits of strength training on blood pressure, but there are gaps on the best intensity. Objective: The aim of the present study was verified the blood pressure responses after three different strength training sessions performed with different intensities. Materials and Methods: Eight men were submitted a three strength training sessions with different intensities. The blood pressure was verified before, during and after 60-minutes the end of the session (each 10 minutes). Oscillometric method was used during the research. Results: The ANOVA showed significant differences for the rest values only in the intermediary intensity (p < 0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, the sessions with higher and lower intensities were less effective for inducting the hypotension after exercise compared to an intermediary training session.
