The influence of the folicular and lútea phase in the performance of muscle forceof inferior members in musculation practice
Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to verify the influence of follicular and luteal phase in the strength performance of the lower limbs. Participated in the research eighteen women who practice weight training for more than six months, with an average age of 23 ± 3,5 and average body weight of 63 kg ± 5,7 kg, with a normal menstrual cycle and who used contraceptive methods. For evaluation of the strength of the lower limbs was used the Leg Press 45º equipment and the 1RM Protocol proposed by BAECHLE. The tests were performed in the follicular phase (days 7 to 12) and in the luteal phase (days 16 to 23). It could be observed that during the follicular phase there was a significant increase of strength with regard to the luteal phase. Thus, it is concluded that there are differences regarding the strength of lower limbs during the follicular phase compared to the luteal phase.
