Abstract

The present study of case presents a protocol to determinate the anaerobic threshold in mat using as parameter the time of speak. For this was taken in consideration the probable relationship between the point of respiratory compensation and the difficulty of speaking for the increasing of the ventilation and respiratory frequency. An individual 31 years, 80Kg, 181 cm of height, that do not smoke and practicing of not competitive physical activity was submitted to 3 protocols in distinct days. 1) The protocol of time of speaking consists of surveying until when the evaluate can count, in loud voice, the following sequence: zero, 1001, 1002 and thus for ahead in the time of 10 seconds. This counting must be done during the expiration and as fast as possible. 2) Protocol of minimum lactate threshold where the evaluated did two shots of 200m with a minute of interval, after 8 minutes of rest there were given 5 turns of 800m with progressive speeds and interval of 30 seconds for the glicemy, lactate and cardiac frequency collection. 3) Incremental protocol of mat where the speed is increased in 1.2km/h to each 3 min with pause of 30 seconds to each internship for lactate, glicemy, cardiac frequency and subjective perception of effort gauging. The time of speak test did not present important difference in speed (approximately 12km/h) and cardiac frequency (approximately 170 bpm) of the anaerobic threshold when compared with the described tests. But, based in the results obtained concluded that it would be an alternative for places with little structure, it has seen its practical and low cost when compared with some existent tests.
