Knowledge production about crossfit®: systematic review
Abstract
This study aimed to systematically review the scientific production about CrossFit. It was used the PRISMA recommendations to conduct the systematic review. The electronic search was performed in the databases Scielo, Science Direct, Scopus, Lilacs, Pubmed, SportDiscus and Web of Science. Of 294 studies screened, 44 satisfied the inclusion criteria. An increase in publications was observed, especially from 2015. The studies showed themes related to Exercise Physiology (11), Psychology of Sport and Exercise (9). Most of the studies were performed by researchers in the USA (24 / 54.54%), followed by Brazil (5 / 11.36%). We concluded that there is recent exponential growth in publications about CrossFit. Our results demonstrated a focus on themes related to Exercise Physiology and Psychology of Sport and Exercise, driven by researchers of institutions of USA and Brazil.
