Personal training: relevant factors for contracting the service
Abstract
The objective was to verify the level of importance attributed by the clients of personalized training (PT) to different relevant factors when contracting the service. Thirty-nine individuals (14 men and 25 women, 42.2 ± 13.8 years-old) enrolled in a PT program in the city of Praia Grande, SP, who had a training routine for at least one month, participated in the study. Subjects were asked to answer a questionnaire adapted from previous publication that aimed to identify the level of importance attributed by the volunteer to different factors relevant to the contracting of the PT service. The results were presented in an average percentage of importance. The technical-specific knowledge was the most relevant factor at the time of contracting the service, presenting 100% of relevance. Following, in decreased order of importance came professional attitude (98.3%), attendance (97.4%), curriculum (96.6%), physical evaluation (94.9%), partnerships with other professionals (80.3%), indications (79.4%), training sessions (58.9%), physical appearance (20.5%), price (20.5%), and participation in sporting events (15.4%). It is concluded that the PT client values more factors related to quality and safety of the service in relation to logistics, cost and other false motivating factors. Â
