Performance analysis of maranhense triatlets
Abstract
Triathlon is characterized as a Multisport activity, being integrated by Swimming, Cycling, Running and Transitions. Objective: The study aimed to analyze and compare the performance of Triathletes during the Campeonato Maranhense - Triathlon Sprint for the year 2017 in the elite category. Materials and Methods: Quantitative study using public data, sample made up of the result of the Maranhense Championship - Sprint Triathlon, available on the web, with 5 male and female first places in the elite category of the year 2017, totaling 10 participants. Statistical Analysis: Descriptive and inferential statistics were used through Microsoft Excel® 2017 and Jasp 0.14.1, using the Shapiro-Wilk tests, Independent Student t Test and Pearson's Correlation, adopting significance p<0.05. Results: The following correlations were observed with the final time of the race, for swimming (r= -0.498), cycling (r=0.897), running (r=0.185) in males, while in females for swimming (r= 0.698), cycling (r= 0.234) and running (r= 0.654). Conclusion: There was a better performance in males, as well as an association with significance in the final test time.
