Physical education university student’s usual time spent on physical activities duringthe course stages in Torres -RS
Abstract
Introduction: Physical education students must have in mind the importance of their future work and enlarge their concepts about health, applying them to their routine from university. Objectives: This study aims to verify the usual time of physical activities and inactivity’sof these students, observing if the stage in which the student is will influence in that behavior. Materials and Methods: 84 students participated in the sample (34 woman), distributed by 3 phases of graduation (Phase1: Semesters 1º and 2º; Phase 2: Semesters 3º, 4º and 5º; Phase 3: Semesters 6º,7º and 8º). Tests included measures of physical mass rate, waist-hip relation and the applying of IPAQ (International Physical Activity Questionnaire) 8.0 version. The data were analyzedwithin an interval of confidence of 95% for descriptive variables. The associations between quantitative variables were considered through the coefficient of correlation of Persons (r). Analysis of multivariable’s (MANOVA) being considered significant when P ≤ 0.05 (Zar, 1999). The proptional descriptive statistic was considered in the final data analysis. Results: While making a list of the phases, type, values of IMC and RCQ, significant difference between phases and other variables was not observed. Conclusion: It has been concluded that the students have already incorporatedthe practice ofphysical exercises in their routine and they keep their anthropometric measures at health levels.
