Vertical jump performance in women's football goalkeeper: a systematic review
Abstract
The growth of women's football worldwide has opened up possibilities for more and more professionals to be interested in the sport. The training of female football goalkeepers is evolving with the modality, and within that, the jump height performance of female football goalkeepers is relevant. Thus, the objective of the study was to conduct a systematic review in order to verify the performance of female football goalkeepers in terms of their jump height. The search was carried out in the PubMed and SPORTDiscus databases in January 2023 and 109 articles were found, of which 8 were included. The most used jump evaluation was the countermovement jump, and the most used equipment was the contact mat. Vertical jump performance values ranged between 20.65 ± 5.05 and 54.00 cm. Thus, due to the variation in the results found, it is suggested that those responsible for the analyses verify whether the profile data of the study are in accordance with the context in which they will be used as parameters in planning the training of female football goalkeepers.
