Analyze the conditions of morphofunctional handball players participating in national competition
Abstract
The aim of the present study was to analyze the conditions of morphofunctional handball players participating in national competition. 26 adult male (aged 21.1 ± 3.8 years) athletes from the category of Handball were evaluated. The subjects underwent anthropometric measurements for body composition and functional assessment to estimate the aerobic capacity, flexibility and abdominal strength. The athletes were 15.9 ± 4.2% fat estimated by skinfold measurements. Functional capacity was measured by aerobic capacity 42.9 ± 6.5 ml / kg / min, obtaining a good classification. The abdominal strength 48 ± 9 replicates was classificated as excellent, while the flexibility of thoracolumbar 33 ± 7 cm was classified as medium. This study concludes that athletes participating in Handball national competition show the percentage of fat above average population, estimated aerobic capacity classified as good, medium flexibility and muscular endurance abdominal stratified as excellent.
