Strength training and breast cancer: a system review
Abstract
Strength training is an excellent intervention strategy for maintaining and promoting the health, quality of life, but for aesthetic and athletic performance. The development of muscle strength has been recognized fundamental in the recovery and rehabilitation of survivors of cancer, reducing the physical and psychological complaints after treatment. However, one still observes contraindications and limitations on the exercise for this population may induce or exacerbate lymphedema of the upper body. In an attempt to updates in relation to strength training and breast cancer, we discuss the benefits of strength training combined or not with aerobic training informing and contributing to better care of health professionals involved in the care of this population.
