Level of clarification of the diabetes carriers in what it says respect to the pathology and its treatment: aspects nutritionais, medicamentosos and physical activity
Abstract
This research had as objective to trace the profile of the diabetic patients taken care of in the Hospital Universitário Lauro Wanderley in João Pessoa-PB. The sample was composed for 41 diabetic, ones with age between 40 and 85 years, being 25 and women 16 men. For collection of the data an individual interview through a questionnaire. The present study mellitus evidences a bigger prevalence of 97.6% of diabetes type 2 in relation to type 1 that it was of 2.4%. How much to the risk factors, 78% had familiar antecedents, 70.7% possess overweight or obesities, 68.3% had low degree of school. Of the complications related to diabetes, 17.0% had presented neuropathies peripheral, 14.6%, problems of vision. In relation the physical activity, 85.4% know of the importance of the same one, however 65.9% do not practice no physical activity, 56.1% of the cases are the doctors who recommend this practical, 82.9% had affirmed to have some difficulty to carry through physical activity regularly, of which 39.0% tell not to have disposal, great majority 90.2% make diet. With these results, it is given credit that the education of the diabetic one by means of a team of multiprofessional health, enabled to the care of this group, could prevent or reduce, of significant form, the factors of riskand sprouting of decurrently complications of diabetes.
