Nutritional assessment of professional athletes in football Eusébio -Ceará
Abstract
The study aimed to help both the scientific environment and for the football national and regional levels through nutritional characterization of professional football athletes, allowing a better prescription dietotherapeutic and regionalized, since it is the best known food habit and the pattern of body composition of these players . The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anthropometric profile, the value of total energy diet (VET), the intake of macronutrients, micronutrients and the level of dehydration in athletes from professional football. The sample consisted of 104 footballplayers (22 years ± 3.26 years), a club professional state of Ceará. All evaluations were conducted during the period competitive. The body composition was determined bymeasuring the skin folds and nutritional data obtained by food investigation. Regarding the eating habits of these athletes, it was found that they had diet with low intake of carbohydrates, high protein a tendency high lipid on, high consumption of cholesterol, inadequate intake of some micronutrients and fiber. Thus, one can conclude that there are differences between positions studied anthropometric and nutritional inadequacies. The results of this study suggest that nutritional interventions are performed in professional footballplayers to improve performance.
