Anthropometric and fitness related to health in adult men and women of different age groups
Abstract
Introduction: The reduction of physical activity in the population has become increasingly larger, due to several factors including a sedentary lifestyle, lack of regular physical activity and aging, bringing low levels of flexibility, muscular strength and cardiorespiratory endurance. Aim: To investigate the anthropometric profile and physical fitness related to health of adult men and women. Methodology: The sample consisted of 817 individuals, practitioners in academia Guarapuava-PR were divided into five groups according to sex and age: 18-19 (G1), 20-29 (G2), 30-39 (G3) 40-49 (G4), 50-59 (G5). Statistical analysis of variance test ANOVA One Way and was used for the post hoc Tukey test was used, with P ≤0.05. Results: It is possible to observe that the % of fat a significant increase in men being higher in groups G3, G4 and G5 compared to G1 occurs. Conclusion: The trend of reduction of health-related physical fitness (HRF) in peopleover age seems to be increasingly common; this information can assist health professionals to take preventive measures to change that this population.
