Influence of interval training in obesity control: a literature review
Abstract
The aim of this study was to review aspects of interval training that could help control obesity. A literature review was performed using the databases Bireme and Scielo. Selected articles were selected according to your theme and relationship with this present study. Only items with a maximum of 10 years of publication, available in full in Portuguese, English and Spanish were analyzed. Most of the studies analyzed, regardless of methodology, showed improvementsin the variables as increased VO2max, reducing body fat, increased insulin sensitivity, increased GLUT-4 concentration and increased cardiorespiratory fitness. Through the studies analyzed, it is suggested that the use of interval training can be a good strategy for improving fitness and change in body composition. However, due to different methodologies, training should be prescribed individually and further studies are needed to elucidate better benefits.
