Inflamación subclínica y enfermedad cardiovascular en la obesidad: el papel del ejercicio continuo e interválico como tratamiento

Resumen

En las últimas décadas, el tejido adiposo ha pasado a ser visto como un órgano endocrino, dejando su condición de simple depósito de energía. Ya existe un consenso de que el tejido adiposo libera citocinas inflamatorias de fase aguda, lo que puede aumentar el riesgo de enfermedades cardiovasculares. Algunos estudios han demostrado que el ejercicio físico es un recurso importante para el tratamiento de la obesidad y puede reducir el estado inflamatorio de las personas obesas, sin embargo, el tipo de ejercicio o la intensidad aún no están bien descritos. Estudios recientes han demostrado probables beneficios de actividades de alta intensidad, predominantemente anaeróbicas, sobre la capacidad de oxidar grasas. Sin embargo, el efecto del ejercicio predominantemente anaeróbico en la reducción de la obesidad y el estado inflamatorio aún es poco conocido. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de la presente revisión fue sintetizar información sobre la evidencia sobre el ejercicio, ya sea predominantemente aeróbico o anaeróbico, y el impacto sobre el estado de inflamación subclínica en individuos obesos.
