Efecto del intervalo entre repeticiones sobre la potenciación post-activación del salto vertical

Resumen

Introducción y Objetivo: La estrategia de utilizar un ejercicio de alta intensidad antes de una actividad explosiva posterior se denomina potenciación post activación (PPA). Sin embargo, la PPA puede enmascararse si la fatiga es excesiva. Por lo tanto, los métodos que contribuyen a la reducción de la fatiga pueden contribuir al éxito de la APP. El objetivo del presente estudio es verificar el efecto de 4 repeticiones máximas (4RM) en la sentadilla realizadas de forma continua y con un intervalo entre repeticiones en el salto vertical. Materiales y métodos: 10 hombres entrenados recreativamente (27,3 ± 3,2 años, 180,3 ± 6,3 cm, 80,8 ± 4,3 kg), después de test y retest de 4RM en el ejercicio de sentadilla libre, separados por un período después de 48 horas, realizaron aleatoriamente lo siguiente protocolos: (a) solo saltaban (CON); (b) repeticiones continuas tradicionales (TRD); (c) Intervalo de 15 segundos entre repeticiones (IER). En todos ellos se verificó la altura del salto vertical con 3, 7 y 11 minutos de diferencia. Resultados: No se observaron diferencias entre los diferentes momentos (p=0,253) y los diferentes protocolos (p=0,509). El tamaño del efecto reveló una magnitud trivial para todas las interacciones, excepto para el IER en comparación con el TRD en el intervalo de 3 minutos (pequeño). Discusión: A pesar de no encontrar una mejora estadística significativa, la pequeña magnitud del protocolo IER en el intervalo de 3 minutos sugiere una posible menor fatiga. Conclusión: El intervalo de 15 segundos entre repeticiones no fue suficiente para recuperar la fatiga provocada por la alta intensidad realizada durante la sentadilla.
