Evaluación del comportamiento de los músculos vastus medialis obliquus (VMO), rectus femoris (RF) y vastus lateralis (VL) al subir y bajar escaleras en individuos sanos

Resumen

Propósito: Verificar el pico de contracción en los músculos vastus medialis obliquus, rectus femoris y vastus lateralis; Material y Métodos: Se analizó en nuestro estudio mediante electromiografía de superficie (EMGS), técnica no invasiva durante el ascenso y descenso de escalones. En este experimento participaron como voluntarios 10 individuos, del sexo femenino, sanos, sedentarios y cuya edad promedio fue de 23,8 ± 2,97 años y estatura promedio de 164 ± 4,29 cm. Resultados: Los resultados obtenidos permitieron concluir que el músculo vastus lateralis alcanzó el mayor pico de contracción durante el ascenso de los escalones y durante el descenso fue el vastus medialis obliquus el que obtuvo el mayor pico de activación, sin embargo estos hallazgos no fueron estadísticamente significativo. También observamos que la fase concéntrica (ascenso) del movimiento mostró mayor activación, en relación a la fase excéntrica (descendente), de todos los músculos estudiados.
