Sistema imunológico e fadiga no exercício: uma relação pouco conhecida
Resumo
A literatura é escassa no que se refere ao papel do sistema imunológico na instalação, tanto de fadiga periférica, quanto central. Por meio de uma revisão de literatura, diversos aspectos isolados do processo de fadiga, influenciados por células imunológicas, foram reunidos em uma provável hipótese da ocorrência da fadiga periférica e central. Assim, há indícios que células circulantes imunológicas, atraídas por substâncias liberadas pelo músculo ativo, fixam-se neste tecido, liberando moléculas que promovem sensações de fadiga periférica ou alterações no processo de contração muscular. Estas mesmas substâncias, que agem localmente, podem atingir o Sistema Nervoso Central, resultando em uma possível fadiga central. Assim, parece que o sistema imunológico pode, por meio da liberação de sinalizadores, desencadear uma resposta rápida e eficiente de fadiga.
